Carbon Dioxide Degasifiers
Removal of Carbon Dioxide from water can be accomplished at low cost using a Branch Air Stripper.
The C02 Degasifier is simply an air stripper designed specifically for removal of dissolved carbon dioxide. Ambient air can be used to remove the dissolved gas down to low levels. The quantity of air needed to do this is small.
The principle of operation is described on the Air Stripping page. The internals vary slightly from standard designs as a more sophisticated liquid distributor is necessary to assure that the liquid is evenly covering the packing media and that the small amount of air introduced at the bottom is evenly mixed with the water.
Branch Environmental C02 Degasifiers have been used on many applications and are available in virtually all materials of construction can be provided however the majority of the C02 Degasigiers are Fiberglass, Rubber lined Steel, or similar construction. Small units up to large systems with capacities of 3000 gpm (681 m3/h) are available in single units.
